Benefits that can be achieved through Pilates
 Why Pilates?

Pilates is a safe form of exercise for all ages and is particularly suitable for people who have not exercised in a while.  Problems are often encountered due to poor posture, weight issues and poor muscle tone and they worsen as we get older. Additionally, these can lead to secondary effects such as aches and pains, osteoporosis, poor circulation and a lack of energy.

My classes are aimed at allowing you to work at your own pace, increasing your stamina, strength and flexibility in the process. Moreover, because Pilates exercises are performed with precision and control, the risk of injury is greatly reduced too.

Pilates is especially effective at relieving back pain, joint inflammation, swelling, arthritis, and tension throughout the body. After a few sessions your range of movement will increase and you will notice a reduction in swelling and inflammation.

By improving your circulation, there are further benefits such as an improvement in bone density - important not only for those already suffering from osteoporosis, but also for those wishing to avoid it.  Additional benefits of Pilates include a strengthened core, better posture, greater flexibility and improvement in joint mobility.
